In 1999 Cody enlisted in the Army as an infantryman directly out of high school. Upon graduation from Basic Training and U.S. Army Airborne School, he was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division where he quickly deployed to Egypt in support of an international peacekeeping mission. Upon his return to Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Cody ascended to the rank of sergeant and was selected to become a part of a scout reconnaissance platoon where he earned a position as a sniper. Following the 9/11 attacks on our country, Cody’s unit was deployed to Afghanistan. There, Cody continued his service as a sniper and a squad leader, providing strategic support in dozens of complex missions along the Afghan/Pakistan border.
After returning from service and earning his Bachelors degree at the University of Texas, Cody’s dedication to service, country and sound policy came full circle when he joined the CVA team to found the organization’s Texas Chapter. He has quickly risen through the ranks thanks to his exceptional leadership and poise.
